Sound Division raise PR platform for Beijing Olympics sponsors
The Sound Division Technical Events department construct platform staging and supply PA with lighting for Beijing Olympics 2008 sponsor, Samsung, at a PR event, organised by The Hospital Events Company at their Covent Garden venue.
Samsung Europe were to announce four competition winners nominated to be the UK's Olympic Torch bearers at Beijing 2008. Five times Olympic rowing gold medallist, Steven Redgrave would present the winner certificates assisted by Girls Aloud singer, Kimberley Walsh with representatives from the Press and media in attendance.
In this latest collaboration with their long standing client, The Hospital Events Company, the SDG Technical team delivered and installed a large 16ft (L) x 10ft (W) x 1ft (H) platform stage complete with a 12ft x 4ft, disability compliant, wheelchair access ramp and guard rails.
SDG also dressed the stage in the royal blue Samsung company colour with black side draping.
Specifying for the public address requirement, Sound Division stand mounted a smart, black EV sxA360 powered loudspeaker system fed by 2 x Shure ULX hand held and 1 x lectern mic and controlled by a 14 channel, Allen & Heath Mix Wizard.
Stage illumination was precisely covered by 4 x Zoom profiles, manfrotto mounted and managed by a Strand 100 series lighting desk with accompanying Zero 88 dimmer pack.
Taking care of the sound and lighting for the evening was Sound Division Group technical manager for the event, John Sullivan.
